    Week of May 26-31

We’ve made it!!! No, not to the end of the school year (June 12…?!), but to the start of the summer swim season! Things kick off

tomorrow with practices for the Blue Crabs—9-10s at 5pm, 8 & unders at 6pm, and 11+ at 7pm. Each practice will be about 50 minutes. Practices will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week and next.

We have learned that it’s best to wait until the water is a little warmer for our Mini Crabs, so practices for the Mini Crabs will begin on Monday, June 9.

Before we get to some important information for the start of our season, fun events, and important details, thank you so much to everyone who came out to our meet-n-greet! It was great seeing so many familiar faces and many new ones as well. We’re looking forward to a fun-filled summer swim season!

    BINGO NIGHT

Get ready for a night of fun—Bingo Night is happening on Sunday, June 1 from 6:00 to around 7:15 PM in the Stone Barn courtyard! Bring your blankets or lawn

chairs to get comfy, and don’t forget daubers or markers to mark your cards. Pack some snacks and drinks to enjoy while you play. We’ll kick things off with our first game at 6:15 sharp, and there will be prizes for the winners, so bring your game face and get ready to shout “BINGO!” See you there!

    APPAREL & SWIM CAPS

If you ordered apparel from our store or swim caps during registration, we will have your items available and ready for pick-up on Tuesday and Thursday of this week.

    TEAM T-SHIRTS & TEAM PHOTO

Every swimmer will receive a team t-shirt which comes as part of their registration. These will be handed out for our team picture on Tuesday, June 10 at Stone Barn.

    VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

For the Blue Crabs to be a fun and successful summer swim team, we need your help. Everyone who registered for this team made this commitment in our volunteer agreement:

This team cannot exist without my help. I acknowledge that the expectation is for us (as parents/guardians) to volunteer to help at meets and other events in order to ensure that this program is fun and successful for all involved. Our service will be both formal by signing up to fulfill a specific job/role and informal by taking initiative to help where needs arise.

Unlike other youth sports and community activities, it really does take a Village to have a summer swim team, and we are grateful to belong to the kind of community that finds joy in service and in being there for one another.

We use a points system to track volunteering—every time you volunteer your family earns points based on the job that you do. The more you volunteer, the more points you earn. Points accrued will go towards raffle tickets that are handed out at our end-of-year party for some great prizes. Blue Crab families are expected to score at least 3 points over the course of the season, while Mini Crabs families are expected to score at least 1 point. Stay tuned for more information on signing up for volunteer opportunities.
