BLUE CRABS - WEEK 4
Hi Blue Crabs!
Happy Father's Day to all our Crab Daddies! We appreciate you!
We had a blast yesterday as we kicked-off the 2025 season with our meet against the Windsor Knolls Wahoos! This meet embodied everything we want to be about as a team and community.
- Growth: our swimmers amassed a total of 203 improved times, evidencing incredible growth across our team.
- Encouragement: accomplishments were celebrated, teammates were cheered on, and it was obvious to everyone that we were there for one another.
- Service: Wow! From all of our timers to everyone who helped set-up and take-down, from our officials and clerk of course parents to our coaches and everyone who helped out at the Crab Shack, as a community we came together, solved problems, met needs, and had a great time doing it. A special shout-out goes to Will Pullen who noticed that he could help out by writing the events being called at Clerk of Course on the board. This was not a formal job, but Will saw that he could play a part in serving those around him so he took the initiative and stepped-up. Well done, Will!
- Fun! All of this amounted to just having a fun time together as a community. Despite not the best weather and in the midst of all of the details of running a swim meet, we had a great time glowing-back a couple of decades and I know our visiting team had an awesome time too.
So, thanks to everyone for the part you played to make yesterday’s meet such a success. I am grateful we get to do all of this together. You can view the complete results here and you view photos from the meet here (these are also available by clicking “Meets & Events” in our website menu).
This email contains Swimmer Shout-Outs, information about our upcoming meet, our upcoming stroke clinic, and our practice schedule and details for this week.

STROKE CLINIC TUESDAYS
We are excited to be partnering with our sister team, the VOU Seahawks, for Tuesday stroke clinics at the Stone Barn pool. These clinics will be held instead of our regular practice and coaches from both teams will work with our swimmers on stroke technique. Please note this alternate Tuesday schedule in the Weekly Crab below.
MINI CRABS
Mini Crab practices will be available this week on Monday morning and afternoon, Wednesday morning and afternoon, and Friday morning. We love seeing our littlest swimmers improving as swimmers!
🦀THE WEEKLY CRAB🦀
It’s officially summertime! Our practice schedule will stay largely consistent from here on out. However, we will have no practice on Thursday, June 19 as the pool will be open to the public that day. Two other things to note about our practice procedures:
- On Monday and Wednesday afternoons (days that the pool is open) you must bring your pool pass and enter through the normal pool entrance. All other practices are held when the pool is closed, where you will check-in and enter at the Blue Crab Gate.
- If you’d like to hang out at the pool after our morning practices end and the pool opens at 12 PM, you will need to first leave the pool deck and then come back in with your pool pass through the regular pool entrance.
