Blue Crabs - Week 5
Hi Blue Crabs!
First, Happy Father’s Day to all of our awesome Blue Crab Dads! We are grateful for the huge part you play in raising our kids and working to make our community a great one.
Second, while we didn’t win our meet versus FCY, we still made it a great day with plenty of fun, great swims, and good times to go around. You can check out the complete meet results here* and you view photos from the meet here (these are also available by clicking “Meets & Events” in our website menu).
*Please note that the YMCA pool is in yards, not meters, so all times will look much faster than at our pool. This is because their pool is shorter.
This email contains details about our picture night on Tuesday, our meet this coming Saturday, pool access information, and a look at the week ahead.
PICTURE NIGHT
Our team photo will take place THIS TUESDAY, 6/23 around 7:15 PM. There will be no swim practice for swimmers 11 and up on Tuesday. We will be handing out our 2026 team t-shirts that are included as part of registration starting at 5 PM. They will be worn for the team picture. Please pick these up by 7 PM. This picture is for all swimmers, Blue Crabs and Mini Crabs.

We will be providing a digital copy of the photo to all of our wonderful swim team families. If you are interested in individual/sibling photo sessions, those are available separately and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5:30 PM. Session pricing starts at $25 for an individual or sibling photo session and payment will be collected on site. The session cost includes an 8x10 print.
SWIMMER SHOUT-OUTS
Unfortunately, due to an issue with the result that FCY sent over, we aren’t able to run all of our typical reports for team records, improved times, and all-star qualifiers by event. All of that should be updated for our meet next week. That said, we did add four more swimmers to our list of FSSL all-star qualifiers, bringing our total to 25 so far this season! Congratulations to Mia Dehn, Madison Koehn, Savannah Koehn, and Colette Nicholes! And congratulations to all of our swimmers who swam for personal bests! The PR pot was making a lot of noise on Saturday!
HOME MEET VS. RIDGE SEALS
We will be hosting the Ridge Seals Swim Team this Saturday, 6/27. Our team theme will be Halfway to Halloween! Wear a costume, spooky shirt, orange and black, or any festive Halloween gear. 🎃 🎃 🎃
Swimmer Entry: It is very important that you sign in and click on the green “Meet Entry” button on this page to declare your swimmer(s) as either “attending” or “not attending.” This must be done by 10:00 PM on Tuesday, 6/23 in order to participate in the meet. Even if you are not attending on Saturday, please complete this process by Tuesday. Thank you!
Adult Halftime Relay: Sign-up to show off your impressive swimming skills this coming Saturday. A prize will be awarded to the winning and most spirited teams. Sign up here!
POOL ACCESS FOR PRACTICES
Since the VOU is requiring everyone to check-in to the pool using a valid VOU Pool Pass, if you have a non-resident bringing your swimmer(s) to practice, they are required to use a guest pass. Alternatively, you can order a caregiver pass on the VOU site right here.
